Youth Camps are offered throughout the year in Spring, Summer and Fall. During the camps kids will ride twice daily. The first ride focuses on basic riding skills and instruction. The second ride will be bareback riding or games on horseback. Not only will kids get double the riding time, but they will also learn all aspects of horse care. Each day they will learn to groom and bathe, saddle, and bridle. Beyond horse care, other subjects taught are horse heath; barn management; long lining, lunging and driving; learning horse breeds; show grooming; and other horse-related educational topics. Special events offer the kids opportunities to learn from guest experts such as farriers and veterinarians. During these sessions, the kids have the chance to interact with various specialists in the equine industry. During camp, other activities include arts and crafts; swimming; scavenger hunts and games; and a grooming contest. We have a lot of fun activities always planned but safety is forefront and there is always supervision for all activities. Each Day Camp session runs Monday through Thursday from 9am to 3pm (except Memorial Week, which runs Tuesday through Friday, May 31-June 3, 2011).
